EvelinaAppeal: Family Fundraising

Reggie Kenyon was born at St Thomas', and according to mum Henrietta and dad Richard: "We had fantastic treatment from all the doctors and nurses there." When it came to Reggie's naming ceremony his parents decided that they would ask guests to make donations to charity rather than give him presents.

They felt the Evelina Appeal was the obvious choice given their association with Guy's and St Thomas', and specifically wanted to try and help children, as they felt it was appropriate to the occasion. Using Justgiving the family have so far raised £840 for an ITU instrument trolley, three comforting Zaki hands and a safe T cot.

Ollie Hosken was diagnosed with heart problems before he was even born, and was successfully treated at the Evelina with an operation just 8 days after he was born. The Hoskens and friends decided over summer to undertake a sponsored walk from Greenwich to the Evelina along the Thames Pathway to raise funds for the hospital in thanks. His mum Sarah said: "Ollie is now one year old full of energy and toddling around, and his next scan is not for another year so we are delighted."

Combined with generous gifts from family and friends at Ollie's Christening, the Hoskens raised £3,628 for the Appeal.
