Tesco Express rings up Charity donation
Staff at the new Tesco Express store on Tabard Square, close to Guy's Hospital, are giving their support to the Charity.
Store manager Mansoor Ahmed and his staff donated £500 to the Charity as part of their opening celebrations. Geoffrey Shepherd, Chief Executive of the Charity, joined Mansoor and his staff at the official launch ceremony in October 2007 to receive the cheque.
Mansoor said: “We are delighted to support Guy’s and St Thomas’ Charity, which makes such an important contribution to the health services not only at Guy’s Hospital, but health services across Lambeth and Southwark.”
The Tesco Express store chose to make the donation to support services at their local hospital as part of Tesco’s commitment to supporting local communities.
Geoffrey Shepherd said at the launch: “We are very grateful to Tesco Express,Tabard Square, for this gift. Our local community of residents and businesses are incredibly supportive, giving up their time to fundraise and making direct contributions. I hope today will be the start of an ongoing relationship with the store and wish them well in their new home.”
