Imaging sciences refurbishment

Location: Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust / King's College London
Award: £650,000
Award date: May 2008

Project intentions:
£650,000 over three years will refurbish an additional 300 meters2 of space in the Rayne Institute at St Thomas’ Hospital to allow the co-location of a new cohort of imaging scientists who will broaden the scope of imaging sciences beyond the basic sciences and engineering, through therapy development, diagnosis, patient selection and response prediction and assessment with a particular focus on tackling cancer. The funding supports the vision to create a multidisciplinary approach which brings together physicists, computing specialists and other basic scientists with clinicians to help drive new developments in cancer services.
