System wide transformation of healthcare is a
strategic priority. Areas of particular focus include:
- Improving the quality and experience of care, for instance by
reducing mortality, or improving health related quality of life of
patients
- Reducing avoidable episodes of care, for instance by reducing
emergency admissions through more integrated care
- Reducing clinically inappropriate variations in the delivery of
care, for instance in access to care or length of stay in
hospital.
- Improving specialist/tertiary care in cardiovascular
paediatrics and imaging within Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation
