Funding for projects and activities which improve patient experience or support staff welfare and professional development that make a tangible, measurable difference for patients.
To apply for funding you need to first share your idea with us. If appropriate, we'll send you an application form for the Charitable Fund or advise you of other types of funding we provide.
Applications to the Charitable Fund are welcome from all departments within Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust. If your application is for Guy’s Cancer or Evelina Children’s Hospital please apply to those funds first. If their criteria are not appropriate you can then apply to the Charitable Fund.
To apply to the Charitable Fund you must be employed either at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust or at King’s College London (with an honorary contact for Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust).
The Charitable Fund is made up of donations and all grant holders are encouraged to help us raise further funds, so we can continue to make grants.
The minimum award you can receive from the Charitable Fund is £500. Larger bids will be subject to available funds. Large applications may be deferred to allow new funding to be raised.
The scheme supports projects and activities which improve patient experience or support staff welfare at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust.
Projects or items should be over and above those supported by NHS budgets.
Examples of eligible projects include:
To ensure our funds have the greatest impact there are some exclusions on what we can support.

Before applying, you should try to secure funds from Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust and other sources. You will need to explain what you've done this in your application form.
Applications for grants are carefully considered by the Charitable Fund committee, which is comprised of senior clinical and management staff from Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust and the Charity’s Trust Funding Director.
The Charitable Fund committee meets four times a year to review applications for funding over £5,000.
The Charitable Fund scheme is suspended for the remainder of 2020. Unfortunately will not be able to consider any applications for support under this scheme but will review the position prior to the end of this calendar year. This will allow us to release funding to support projects to help patients and staff at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospitals in their next phase of response to COVID-19.
If you would like to register an idea in the meantime please submit via the link below and we will add you to our mailing list for news about the Charitable Fund. If you have any queries please contact email@example.com.
