Tackling health challenges in urban, diverse and deprived areas

A breakfast session to explore how urban environment, diversity and deprivation combine to impact on people’s health.

Monday 13 March 2017
8-11 am
Coin Street Neighbourhood Centre, SE1 9NH

For over 500 years, at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Charity we have supported better health in the London boroughs of Lambeth and Southwark. We focus on major health challenges facing people living in our boroughs. From childhood obesity to poor mental health, they are some of the most critical and complex health challenges of our time in the UK and internationally.

We believe that the interplay between urban environment, diverse communities and deprivation can be a driving factor behind some of the health outcomes we see in our boroughs. So we want to find out more.

This session will bring together a group of people and organisations with a shared interest in better understanding this complex mix. We’ll discuss emerging findings from our work with research specialists Uscreates to gather new insights on the topic, learn from projects which are already tackling the problem and look at how everyone interested in improving health and healthcare may work together to meet the challenge.

Please note that spaces are limited. To register your interest in joining the session, please email communications@gsttcharity.org.uk with your name and why you are interested in the topic.
