Explore what we're trying to achieve and what we offer, and send us basic details of your idea today
We know tackling complex health issues is challenging work and recognise that different people and organisation need different types of support.
[show-more]Flexible funding to meet your needs - we offer a broad range of funding and other non-financial support depending on what can help achieve change.
We fund ideas ranging from tens of thousands pounds, all the way to multi-million pound initiatives; and back quick projects as well as multi-year initiatives.
A close and collaborative partnership – we take a long-term view to make sure every idea gets the space and resource to create impact. We co-produce projects and provide financial, strategic and practical support to make real change.
Not just a funder – we are interested in partnership. We’ll support and connect you with others to approach complex, urban health issues from all angles. We can also make introductions, build collaborations and bring in world-class specialists and local experts to support you with everything from impact evaluation to influencing local decision-making.
Although we take a very considered approach to our funding decisions, we like to work a bit differently. We don’t have a standard application form. Instead, we ask that you start by sharing basic details about you and your idea online. If it sounds like something we could support, we take it from there.
[show-more]We work in partnership to improve health in the London boroughs of Lambeth and Southwark.
If you have a great idea and would like to get support, please share with us your details below and upload any documents you think might be relevant to tell us about your idea.
We don’t have a standard application form and we don’t want to create extra work for you, so in the first instance please send us a brief description of your project in your preferred format. It could be a short note, a video of you describing your idea, or anything else you think will help us understand what you’re aiming to do.
You can also attach any existing documents you might have that are relevant to your idea. These could be things like:
Submitting your idea is the first stage of the process. If we think we can support you, our funding team will be in touch to find out more. We'll work with you to create a plan and a package of support that works for you.
Our resources are limited and so we won’t be able to pursue every idea. If we’re interested in finding out more about yours, we’ll be in touch within 10 working days. If we don’t think it is something we can take forward, we’ll be in touch with some feedback in the same timeframe.
We’re interested in new and tested ideas that can impact on the urban health issues we focus on. We want to work with the very best people – local, national and international – to drive change in our local area and beyond.
[show-more]We’re currently focusing on reducing childhood obesity and slowing down people’s progression from one to multiple long-term conditions. We have two more urban health programmes launching soon. If you would like to be notified when these are launched please sign up here.
We’re very flexible about who we fund and the types of organisations we partner with, but you must be delivering a project that addresses childhood obesity or slowing down people’s progression from one to multiple long-term conditions for us to fund you through our programmes. For more information on our current programmes, see here.
You don’t need to be based in Lambeth and Southwark, but the work must be relevant to our boroughs and the issues we’re currently working to address.
For more on what we do and don’t fund within each programme please click through to the relevant programme.
If you’re member of staff at Guy’s and St Thomas NHS Foundation Trust looking for funding or support, please see our Trust funding page.
