Our programme aims to reduce childhood obesity in our boroughs of Lambeth and Southwark, which have pockets of deep deprivation where we find some of the highest rates in the country. Now, we are exploring how best we address the issue by working with a small number of partners on specific initiatives. We will learn from these to continue building our programme approach and will share what works here with others interested in the issue and in health in urban, diverse and deprived environments.
During this development phase we aim to:
To help us with this we have asked ourselves some key questions, and have developed a small number of learning partnerships to help us find answers. We will use what we learn during this phase to inform the next stages of our programme, and share what we learn with others also interested in childhood obesity and health in urban areas similar to our boroughs.
