The Committee oversees our role as the Trust charity to ensure we maximise the impact of our dedicated funding streams and our fundraising.
Helen is an experienced public sector leader. She has most recently worked in an advisory capacity with iMPOWER and as Chief Executive of a London Borough, a senior treasury official and the Chief Officer of the Mayor’s office for Policing and Crime. She was a member of the Board of Clarion Housing Group.
Ron was appointed as Council of King's College London in August 2019 and Chair of NHS Providers in July 2019. Prior to this, he joined Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust as Chief Executive in 2007. Other roles have included Deputy Director of Financial Management for the NHS Executive and Chief Executive of the South East London Commissioning Agency.
Richard joined Imperial Cancer Research Fund in 1998 and was heavily involved in the merger with CRC which created Cancer Research UK in 2002. He oversaw dramatic growth in fundraising from £200m to £500m and the launch of Stand up to Cancer with Channel 4. Richard joined Macmillan in October 2015 as Executive Director of Fundraising, Marketing and Communications with the remit to raise vital funds and awareness in order to help everyone with cancer live life as fully as they can.
Sarah has just spent the last eight years building proactive income generation to maximise the benefit to patients across the south west at Above & Beyond, the NHS charity based in Bristol. Previously she has worked for national charities, including Mencap and CLIC Sargent, developing organisational strategies which help secure sustainable income streams for their vital work.
Sue has held a number of senior roles in the NHS and was Chief Executive of Merton, Sutton and Wandsworth Health Authority from 1997 to 2002. More recently she has worked with the Department of Health as a consultant and with many individuals and organisations in the public and third sectors as an executive coach, facilitator and development consultant.
Jackie is Chief Strategy Officer at Guy's and St Thomas'. Up until 2000 Jackie held a number of clinical operational roles in Trusts, managing local and specialist services. She’s responsible for developing the Trust’s organisational and clinical strategy, and support to clinical services and key strategic partnerships.
David Cheesman is Director of the South East London Cancer Alliance and Programme Director for Guy’s Cancer. Prior to this he was Director of Strategy at The North West London Hospitals NHS Trust, following three years at Mid Essex Hospital NHS Trust where he was Director of Operations. He had previously been on the Board of Whipps Cross University Hospital 2002 to 2006 as Director of Acute Services and then Director of Strategy and Performance. David started his NHS career in South East London where he worked for 10 years in a variety of general management roles.
Marian Ridley has years of experience as a manager in the NHS. Prior to becoming Evelina London’s first Director in 2013, she was Director of Strategy for Guy’s and St Thomas’. Marian is responsible for leading Evelina London overall, working with the Executive team to make sure the staff can deliver the best possible service to children, young people and their families.
